More Vintage

After three days at the festival, That's Not My Age is feeling totally vintage-d out. So you've probably noticed that this first picture doesn't have much of a retro forties feel (scroll down for nostalgia) - but people, it's Pearl Lowe and Danny Goffey! Not only does Danny Goffey carry the same manbag as Mr TNMA, he looks a bit like a young Sir Paul McCartney, don't you think? Anyhow. Their slightly dishevelled rock and roll vibe is more my kind of thing. Pearl and daughter Daisy put on a Black Swan-inspired fashion show at the festival yesterday, with a very moving tribute at the end to poor old Amy Winehouse.

Though I've got a grown-up lady crush on Pearl, 41, young people love Daisy...

Have to admit that I've never been that interested in the Primrose Hill Set but the Lowe Family were approachable and friendly and really rather attractive. My mum's maiden name is Lowe so I'm wondering if we're related.

Anyway, back to the festival. Here's another set of gorgeous people, Vintage-d up to the max:

Though I have a lot of old clothes, I prefer mid-century, second-hand furniture - it works well with my Scandi-modern bits and pieces and doesn't stink of mothballs:

Vintage Festival

Forget Glastonbury, this is my kind of festival. No mud, no tents and home to clean sheets every night. Thankfully there's not a pair of cut-off denim shorts in sight at London's Southbank Centre (though apparently Alexa Chung and Daisy Lowe will be rocking up on Sunday!) Just a superior type of festival chic. With a nostalgia for the forties and fifties, guests are decked out in the most amazing traditional garb. The Vintage Festival has a lovely friendly atmosphere, fashion shows, live music and a variety of workshops including dance classes, hair and beauty salons and dressmaking sessions.

And it's worth popping into the Museum of 51 too. Designed to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Festival of Britain, there's a fabulous collection of posters, photos and original fifties furniture:

I enjoyed it so much, I'm going back again today. Only this time I'll be wearing a dress!

Vintage Festival is on 29 - 31 July 2011 at the Southbank Centre.
