After suffering serious injuries (which later resulted in two open-heart surgeries) from a jet ski accident in Miami back in May, Sean Kingston is being fined for the crash that apparently could have been prevented had the singer taken precautions.
Officer Jorge Pino, a spokesman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, says that the singer was cited by the commission for careless operation and not having a boater safety ID card after his Jet Ski accident in Miami Beach.
Following a three-month police investigation, Pino said investigators determined Kingston was inexperienced and inattentive, and had he taken a boat safety class or read the manual the accident could have been prevented.
Peno also confirmed that the police report for the investigation found Kingston did not understand basic boating safety procedures and notes that the report says Kingston released the throttle while turning the steering wheel at the same time, which caused him to lose control of the watercraft.
The "Beautiful Girls" singer was fined $180 for the accident.
Talk about adding insult to injury...
